Del Rio Police Identify Suspects in Ongoing Burglary Investigation
Del Rio Police Link Suspects to Multiple Vehicle Burglaries Across City
DEL RIO, TX — A multi-day investigation by the Del Rio Police Department has resulted in the arrest of two juveniles connected to a series of vehicle burglaries across the city, including the theft and resale of a firearm.
According to law enforcement, the case began on March 13, 2026, when officers responded to the 500 block of Waters Avenue after a resident reported a burglary of a vehicle. During the incident, a 9mm pistol was stolen.

Surveillance and Investigation Lead to Identification
As officers began reviewing the case, investigators noted an increase in similar vehicle burglaries throughout Del Rio. Surveillance footage obtained during the investigation captured two male suspects allegedly involved in multiple incidents.
Detectives were able to develop identifying information on one of the suspects, later identified as 17-year-old Jesus Enrique Rios.
Further investigation revealed that the stolen firearm had been sold, leading authorities to obtain both a search warrant for Rios’ residence and an arrest warrant charging him with Theft of a Firearm.

Arrest and Confession Connect Second Suspect
On March 19, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers executed the warrants at a residence in the 200 block of Juanita Street. During the search, additional stolen property was recovered.
Rios was taken into custody and transported to the police station, where he admitted involvement in multiple vehicle burglaries. During questioning, he identified a second suspect as 17-year-old Aydin Horton.
Investigators then obtained additional warrants for Horton’s arrest, as well as search warrants for his residence and vehicle.
Second Arrest Made Hours Later
Later that same day, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers executed the warrants at a residence in the 200 block of Space Boulevard. Horton was taken into custody without incident and charged with Theft of a Firearm.
Both suspects were later transported to the GEO Correctional Facility pending the magistration process.

Escape Attempt Adds Additional Charge
While in custody at the police station, Rios attempted to escape. Officers were able to quickly apprehend him, and he now faces an additional charge of Escape.
Investigation Remains Ongoing
Authorities confirmed that the investigation is still active as officers continue working to identify additional victims and recover more stolen property tied to the recent burglary incidents.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
