Murder Fugitive Wanted in Bexar County Captured at Eagle Pass Port of Entry
A 20 year old fugitive wanted for first degree murder and multiple felony offenses in Bexar County was apprehended at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry after being turned over by Mexican authorities.
EAGLE PASS, Texas — A fugitive wanted on a first degree murder charge in Bexar County was taken into custody Sunday after being turned over to United States authorities by Mexican officials at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.
According to the Eagle Pass Police Department, officers assigned to the department’s U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted in the apprehension of Jason T. Gonzalez, 20, at U.S. Port of Entry II on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Mexican Authorities Turn Fugitive Over to U.S. Officials
Authorities said Gonzalez was transferred to U.S. law enforcement by Mexican authorities at the international port of entry, where members of the Eagle Pass Police Department U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took him into custody alongside their law enforcement partners.
Wanted on Murder and Multiple Felony Warrants
According to police, Gonzalez was wanted on an active warrant out of Bexar County, Texas, where he is charged with First Degree Murder.
In addition to the murder warrant, authorities said Gonzalez also had outstanding warrants for Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest, Failure to Identify, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
Multiple Agencies Assisted in Apprehension
The arrest involved a coordinated effort between several law enforcement agencies.
Assisting in the apprehension were members of the Eagle Pass Police Department U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the United States Marshals Service, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Suspect Booked at Tom Bowles Detention Center
Following his arrest, Gonzalez was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center for processing while awaiting his return to Bexar County to face the outstanding criminal charges.

The Eagle Pass Police Department praised the continued partnership between local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies, stating that the collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to locating violent fugitives, bringing them to justice, and enhancing public safety.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
