Crystal City Man Arrested After Deputy Allegedly Discovers Methamphetamine During Traffic Stop
CRYSTAL CITY, Texas — A routine patrol by a Zavala County Sheriff’s Office deputy resulted in a narcotics related arrest Monday evening after authorities allegedly discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
According to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy A. Aguilar was conducting routine patrol operations on June 15 when he observed an individual operating an electric bicycle against the flow of traffic near the intersection of Buena Vista Street and Diaz Street in Crystal City.

Deputy Aguilar initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the rider, who was identified as Benjamin Reynolds.

During the investigation, authorities allege Reynolds was found to be in possession of a glass pipe and a plastic bag containing approximately 3.4 grams of methamphetamine concealed inside a cigarette box.
Reynolds was taken into custody and transported to the Zavala County Jail.
Authorities charged Reynolds with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B, between 1 and 4 grams.

The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office credited Deputy Aguilar’s proactive patrol efforts with helping remove illegal narcotics from the community.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
