Zavala County Deputies Arrest Two After Methamphetamine Seizure During Traffic Stop

CRYSTAL CITY, TX — A routine traffic stop in Crystal City led to the arrest of two individuals and the discovery of methamphetamine, according to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office.

On October 25, 2025, a Zavala County deputy conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation within the city limits of Crystal City. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy noticed several open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.

A further search of the vehicle uncovered a baggie containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 22.45 grams. Deputies detained both individuals on the scene.

One of the male subjects was charged with Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance, while the second individual was also taken into custody and transported to the Zavala County Jail for processing.

The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that proactive patrols and vigilant enforcement continue to play a critical role in keeping drugs off the streets and ensuring the safety of Crystal City residents.

The seized narcotics will undergo laboratory testing to confirm their composition, and the case remains under investigation.
