Guadalupe County Constables Threatened During Eviction Attempt; Suspect Charged with Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A high-tension police standoff in the Voss Farms neighborhood of New Braunfels ended without injuries Thursday afternoon after law enforcement officers arrested a 64-year-old man who barricaded himself inside his home and threatened deputies with a firearm.
According to authorities, the incident began when the Guadalupe County Constable’s Office attempted to serve a writ of possession at a residence in the 2000 block of Carter Lane. The male resident, later identified as John Michael Herrmann, reportedly pointed a weapon at the Constables, prompting them to retreat and request assistance from the New Braunfels Police Department.
NBPD arrived at the scene at approximately 10 a.m. and determined that Herrmann was armed and had barricaded himself inside the home. Officers confirmed the threat was contained to the single residence and that no other individuals were inside.
