Maverick County Attorney’s Office Deploys New UTVs to Strengthen Border and Community Safety

Operation Lone Star Equipment Enhances Rural Access and Law Enforcement Capabilities
Maverick County, TX – The Maverick County Attorney’s Office has taken a significant step forward in its mission to protect the community by acquiring new Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) to assist with public safety operations across the region. These new assets are already being put to use under Operation Lone Star, increasing law enforcement’s ability to access hard-to-reach areas and improve response times.

The UTVs provide mobility on properties and rural terrain that standard patrol units cannot easily navigate. Their integration into daily field operations means quicker support in emergencies, enhanced surveillance, and more efficient resource deployment across the county.
These vehicles were funded through Operation Lone Star, a statewide initiative aimed at strengthening border security and law enforcement collaboration. Maverick County has been an active participant in the operation, benefiting from state grants, personnel support, and equipment upgrades to better serve its residents.
“This investment reflects our commitment to ensuring safety across every corner of Maverick County,” said a representative from the County Attorney’s Office. “These UTVs are already making a difference in how we serve the public, and they’ll continue to do so for years to come.”

The vehicles are expected to support a variety of efforts, including patrol, emergency response, rural investigations, and cross-agency coordination. Their addition not only boosts operational efficiency but also demonstrates the county’s proactive stance on law enforcement innovation.
Photos shared by the Maverick County Attorney’s Office show the UTVs in action, serving the community under the guiding principles of service, protection, and accountability.
