Eagle Pass authorities are investigating a serious shooting that took place over the weekend, leaving a male victim with a gunshot wound to the face. According to Eagle Pass Police Chief Federico Garza, the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. at a residence on AJ Drive. The victim was allegedly shot in the face by another male subject during what is suspected to be a gang-related altercation.

The victim was taken to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center’s emergency room by a private vehicle and left outside the facility. He received initial treatment before being transferred to a San Antonio hospital for further care. The victim is expected to survive despite the severity of his injuries.

Chief Garza confirmed that the Eagle Pass Police Department is actively investigating the shooting, and they have identified the suspected shooter. An arrest is anticipated, and the attacker could face serious charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or possibly attempted murder.

The Eagle Pass community is shaken by this violent incident, and authorities are working diligently to bring the responsible party to justice.
