Driver Flees Traffic Stop, Passengers Believed to be Undocumented

Search Underway in Seco Mines Subdivision

A driver fled a traffic stop in Seco Mines Subdivision on September 15, 2023, at approximately 10:00 AM. The driver, a local resident, was stopped for a traffic violation but refused to stop. The driver and several passengers, believed to be undocumented, bailed out of the vehicle and ran into the brush area.

A search team is currently in the area and the public is asked to stay away. The driver was taken into custody but the passengers have not yet been detained.

Maverick County and surrounding counties continue to suffer from the dangerous Border Crisis.
