The event was led by Eagle Pass Police Chief Amy Gonzalez and featured participation from regional law enforcement agencies including the Laredo Police Department. Chief Mike Rodriguez of Laredo joined the discussions, signaling strong cross-city support for MVCPA’s mission and objectives.

Participants were also given the opportunity to tour Eagle Pass Port of Entry #2. Assistant Port Director Pete Macias provided a briefing and walkthrough of the facility, highlighting the advanced enforcement technologies and operational procedures used to detect and prevent the illegal movement of stolen vehicles across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The gathering concluded with a luncheon at Choche’s Restaurant in Eagle Pass, where law enforcement leaders continued to foster relationships and share regional insights in a more informal setting. The event served as both a strategic planning opportunity and a platform for strengthening trust among agencies operating in South Texas.

The Eagle Pass Police Department thanked all departments and officials in attendance for their ongoing dedication to regional safety and their role in advancing the goals of the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority. By working together, law enforcement agencies across South Texas are building a more unified front against vehicle-related crimes that impact communities on both sides of the border.

As vehicle theft trends continue to evolve, meetings like these remain essential to ensure law enforcement remains equipped, informed, and connected in the fight against auto crime.
