Uvalde Border Patrol Agents Capture Migrant After 22-Mile Pursuit

UVALDE, TX — According to our sources with the U.S. Border Patrol Del Rio Sector, agents recently apprehended an illegal migrant after a lengthy pursuit that began when he was spotted traveling by bicycle through a remote area.
Agents observed the individual attempting to use the bike to move further into the country. Once he realized he had been detected, he abandoned the bicycle and fled on foot into the brush. Border Patrol tracked him for nearly 22 miles before locating him.
When agents caught up to the man, he was found attempting to bury himself to avoid capture. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Officials with the Del Rio Sector emphasized that this case is another example of the challenges agents face daily in remote areas. They noted that resources and manpower remain dedicated to stopping all illegal crossings in the region.
The Del Rio Sector continues to report steady migrant traffic through South and Southwest Texas, often involving individuals using unconventional methods to evade detection.
The case remains under federal processing.
