Cinthia González Ramos Identified as Victim in Fatal Eagle Pass Hit-and-Run

EAGLE PASS, TEXAS — Authorities have identified the woman killed in an early-morning hit-and-run on El Indio Highway near Bibb Street as 45-year-old Cinthia González Ramos, according to Eagle Pass Police Department spokesperson Humberto Garza.
Collision Occurred in Poorly Lit Area
Police said González Ramos was crossing the roadway with a companion when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The incident happened in a poorly lit section of the highway.
Emergency responders from the Eagle Pass Fire Department transported her toward Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, but she was pronounced deceased before arrival.
Witness Account and Search for Suspect Vehicle
A witness walking with González Ramos at the time of the crash told investigators the suspect vehicle may have been a pickup truck, but could not provide further identifying details. Detectives plan to re-interview the witness to gather additional information.
Authorities said both individuals had just left a nearby store and were walking to a residence in the area when the collision occurred. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from surrounding businesses to help identify the vehicle, which was reportedly traveling westbound at the time.
Police Urge Public Assistance
Garza said the driver’s decision to leave the scene has intensified the seriousness of the case. “Had the driver stayed to render aid or wait for authorities, the circumstances would be very different,” he noted.
The investigation remains active. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Eagle Pass Police Department immediately.
