Aaron Valdez Takes Oath of Office as Mayor of Eagle Pass

EAGLE PASS, TEXAS — June 19, 2025 — A new chapter has begun for the City of Eagle Pass. In a ceremony held at City Hall, Aaron Valdez officially took the oath of office as Mayor, surrounded by family, supporters, and members of the community.
The swearing-in marked a symbolic and administrative shift in local leadership, one that Valdez says will prioritize unity, transparency, and opportunity for all residents.
“This wasn’t just a formality,” Valdez wrote in a heartfelt message shared publicly after the ceremony. “It was a powerful reminder of the trust our community has placed in this new leadership.”
Valdez, a local entrepreneur and former chairman of the Maverick County Hospital District, thanked his wife Stephany Valdez, his family, and the community for supporting his vision for Eagle Pass.
“We didn’t get here alone—we got here together,” Valdez wrote. “Backed by a community that believes in a stronger, more inclusive, and more hopeful Eagle Pass.”
His message emphasized a mayoral administration focused on inclusivity and listening to the needs of all citizens.
“My administration will serve everyone. I will lead with responsibility, compassion, and vision—committed to listening, acting, and building a city where every voice matters and every family has the opportunity to thrive,” he stated.
The ceremony drew attendees from across Eagle Pass, many of whom had been active supporters during Valdez’s campaign. The new mayor ran on a platform of responsible governance, economic growth, youth development, and restoring trust in local institutions.
Valdez concluded his remarks with a note of gratitude to those who joined him in the journey to City Hall:
“Thank you for believing. Thank you for walking this journey with me.”
As the Valdez administration gets underway, residents and officials alike will be watching closely to see how his promises of inclusive, community-centered leadership take shape over the next four years.
