At 3:11 p.m., a member of the DRPD Criminal Investigation Division was contacted by an OCSO detective in Florida. The detective sought assistance in locating two brothers who had fled Florida after being involved in a shooting incident. The suspects’ vehicle GPS was traced to 1401 Las Vacas Street in Del Rio, Texas.

The DRPD promptly conducted an inquiry using their license plate reader database, which confirmed that the vehicle had traveled from Florida to Del Rio. OCSO informed the DRPD that the brothers had active arrest warrants for the offense of attempted murder with a weapon. Officers from the DRPD located the vehicle at the given address, but it was unoccupied at the time. Further investigations, including reports from local citizens and video surveillance, revealed that the suspects had been in the area as recently as September 14.

Further Investigation and Coordination

DRPD detectives reached out to Tiffany Burrow, the Operations Manager of the Val Verde Humanitarian Border Coalition. She provided crucial information that helped piece together the suspects’ movements. Burrow informed the detectives that the brothers had boarded a bus in Del Rio, headed to San Antonio, Texas, and then continued their journey to Newark, New Jersey. This information was quickly relayed to the OCSO for further action.
