Illegal Immigrant Charged with Rape in New York City Was Caught by U.S. Border Patrol in Eagle Pass

According to a report from Fox News, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed that an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, charged with raping a 13-year-old girl in New York City, was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol in Eagle Pass, Texas, in June 2021.

ICE confirmed that the illegal immigrant was released into the U.S. with a future court date. According to Bill Melugin of Fox News, a judge ordered his deportation in February 2022, but he was never removed.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny reported that 25-year-old Christian Inga has been charged with rape, sexual abuse, robbery, kidnapping, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and unlawful imprisonment.

Inga was apprehended after bystanders recognized him and held him until police arrived. The illegal immigrant is alleged to have used a machete-like knife and threatened two 13-year-old children before raping a young girl.

“A violent criminal has been taken off our streets,” said NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban.

Inga is just the latest report of illegal immigrants threatening or committing violent crimes in the U.S.

Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela were arrested Thursday by Houston police after an investigation into the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. Johan Jose Martinez and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos had been apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents but were released into the U.S. with GPS monitors.

In March, an admitted member of the Lebanese Islamist terrorist organization Hezbollah was caught by U.S. Border Patrol. Basel Bassel Ebbadi reportedly told federal authorities, “I’m going to try to make a bomb.”

The issue of illegal immigration has continued to receive national attention; a February Gallup poll found that immigration was the top issue facing Americans.

The February abduction and killing of Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant prompted both federal and state lawmakers to take more serious action against illegal immigration.

In March, 32 U.S. senators introduced the Laken Riley Act, which would require ICE to arrest and detain illegal immigrants who commit acts of burglary, theft, larceny, or shoplifting offenses until they are removed from the U.S. to prevent further crimes.

Earlier this month, Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) released a top 10 “Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List.”

Since the release of the list, two criminals have been apprehended and jailed.

“Texas will not stand by as Biden’s open border policies allow dangerous criminals into our country,” Abbott wrote on social media.
