HOUSTON, TX — Jeff Limmer, a Houston attorney known for his dedication to helping others, was tragically shot and killed while attempting to calm a disruptive customer at a local McDonald’s on Katy Freeway. The incident occurred around 6 PM on Saturday, drawing a swift response from the Houston Police Department.

Details of the Incident

According to reports, a customer at the McDonald’s became irate over an order, leading to a heated exchange with the staff. Limmer, who was present at the time, stepped in to de-escalate the situation. The dispute moved outside, where it escalated into a physical confrontation. After being pushed to the ground, the irate customer retrieved a gun from his car and shot Limmer twice before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck from the early 2000s.

Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, spoke to ABC13, expressing no surprise at her brother’s actions, describing him as someone who always sought to “fight for the little guy and do the right thing.” Limmer, a graduate of the University of Texas and South Texas College of Law, worked at Lewis Brisbois law office and was a frequent patron of the McDonald’s near his home, often visiting to get work done.

Greg Monteverde, a friend of Limmer, praised his bravery in an interview with Fox26. Monteverde reminisced about Limmer’s inclusive nature, recalling how he would make everyone feel welcome and valued during their school days.
