Maverick County Commissioners Court will be having a Regular Meeting at the Maverick County Courthouse today at 5:00PM. A couple of items interesting items have made their way into the agenda today highlighted by:
Item #48 Discussion and possible action on update report from County Auditor on the Maverick County Amphitheatre at the County Lake.
Item #50 Discussion and possible action to provide from the County Auditor Quarterly /Annual project and expenditure report of first half of the American Rescue Plan Act.
And Item #51 Discussion and possible action to develop a plan to spend second part of funds of the American Rescue Plan Act.

WHY ARE THESE ITEMS IMPORTANT?
Maverick County has twice refused to release information having to do with the American Rescue Plan funding citing a Texas Ranger Investigation into the administration of program by Maverick County. There has been a huge cloud of doubt in the administration of the funding by Maverick County, many allegations have been privately made and the withholding of this information brings further suspicion to Maverick County. The American Rescue Plan is getting ready to release more funding to Maverick County but residents do not have the slightest idea what happened to the first bunch of millions dollars sent to the county.
Another hot topic on Maverick Country residents’ minds is the money pit of a project the Maverick County Lake Amphitheatre that has gone through many change orders and unmet deadlines that has delayed its completion date by half a year already. The project’s budget has also inflated throughout the extended delay of completion nearing $3 Million dollars in construction. The Maverick Times will be submitting a Texas Public Information Act request to get questions as to who are the contractors , subcontractors, contract information, bid information, construction costs, change order details and more on the Maverick County Lake Amphitheatre Project.
