Eagle Pass Woman Arrested on Child Endangerment Charge, Campaign Manager to Republican County Judge Candidate
EAGLE PASS, TX — A 33-year-old Eagle Pass woman has been arrested and charged with Endangerment of a Child following an investigation by the Eagle Pass Police Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as Cynthia Veronica Peña, who is the campaign manager to Republican County Judge Candidate. She was taken into custody on March 30, 2026, after officers responded to a Texas Department of Public Safety traffic stop in the 2300 block of Del Rio Boulevard.

During the stop, officers discovered Peña had an active warrant issued by the Eagle Pass Police Department related to a prior investigation.
Investigation Began After Child Found Alone
According to officials, the warrant stems from an incident reported on March 9, 2026, when a seven-year-old child was found crying and unsupervised at an apartment complex.
Officers responding to the call were led by the child to a nearby apartment where no adults were present at the time. A family member was later identified and arrived at the scene to care for the child.
Child Protective Services was notified as part of the response.
Follow-Up Investigation Leads to Arrest
Police conducted a follow-up investigation that resulted in the issuance of a warrant for Peña’s arrest. She was later located during the March 30 traffic stop and taken into custody.
Peña was presented before a magistrate and formally charged with Endangerment of a Child.
Bond and Next Steps
She was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. The case will be forwarded to the appropriate prosecuting authority for further proceedings.
Authorities emphasized that Cynthia Veronica Peña is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
No official comment has been released by the Republican County Judge Candidate.
