Del Rio Police Arrest Driver in DWI Crash Into Residence
Del Rio Police arrested 26-year-old Gabriela Elizabeth Ortiz after a DWI crash into a home on East Bowie Street. Her BAC tested greater than 0.15.
DEL RIO, Texas — August 30, 2025. The Del Rio Police Department has arrested a woman following a vehicle crash into a residence in the 700 block of East Bowie Street during the early morning hours.
At approximately 1:18 a.m., officers responded to the scene and identified the driver as 26-year-old Gabriela Elizabeth Ortiz. According to police, Ortiz exhibited a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and person.
Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, during which Ortiz displayed multiple signs of intoxication. She was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
A breath sample later revealed a blood alcohol concentration greater than 0.15, leading to an enhanced charge of Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC ≥ 0.15.
Ortiz was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing before being released into the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
