Maverick County Judge Holds Press Conference on Arrest of Bomb Threat Suspect

Earlier today, Judge Ramsey English Cantú, the Maverick County Judge, conducted a press conference aimed at providing details regarding the apprehension of Oscar Lira, aged 46. Lira stands accused of committing a state jail felony by engaging in false alarm or reporting a false emergency related to the bomb threats directed at the Maverick County Courthouses.

Over the past two months, a total of four bomb threats had been issued against Maverick County.

Judge Cantú took the opportunity to express his gratitude to all the law enforcement agencies involved in resolving this case and bringing the suspect to justice. In his closing statement, Cantú specifically acknowledged the contributions of Lt. Duran and Special Agent Rivera from the Texas Department of Public Safety, as well as the Eagle Pass Police Department and the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department, all of whom collaborated effectively to ensure a successful resolution.
