According to Drive.com, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers issued tickets to 25 drivers for traveling over 140 mph and 67 more for speeds in the 130s in 2022.
The top 10 fastest speeding tickets in Texas for 2022, as reported by Drive.com, reveal the most dangerous speeding incidents. At the top of the list was a driver who was caught traveling at a staggering 201 mph in a 75 mph zone on I-10 in Gonzales County on December 24th at 10:49 am. The vehicle was a 2018 Dodge Charger. The second-highest speed was clocked at 155 mph in a 70 mph zone on Sam Rayburn Tollway in Collin County on June 19th at 7:26 pm, on a 2022 Yamaha YZF.
North Texas accounted for five of the top 10 speeders. The other five speeders were caught in Gonzales, Hidalgo, Brazoria, Fort Bend, and Bowie counties. The full list includes comments from troopers who made the stops and the traffic conditions at the time.
