Tragic Incident in North Texas, One Year-Old Killed in Dog Attack
A 1-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being mauled by three large dogs in Duncanville, Texas, on Monday, April 15. The attack occurred at the child’s babysitter’s home, situated in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Duncanville Interim Police Chief Matthew Stogner relayed the details during a news conference held on the same day.
The incident unfolded around 10:40 a.m., prompting an emergency response after a distress call reported a small child being attacked by dogs. Despite swift life-saving attempts by first responders, the severity of the injuries led to the child’s death shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Chief Stogner noted that the dogs, described as Shepherd mixes each weighing about 80 pounds, were usually kept outside but somehow managed to enter the house. The babysitter attempted to intervene during the attack but was unable to deter the dogs and sustained injuries in the process.
At the time of the incident, the babysitter was looking after the victim and three other children, who remained unharmed. This marks the first reported incident involving these dogs, as confirmed by the police. The animals were subsequently secured by animal control officers.
