Karla Dividay Matar charged with aggravated assault following incident
On October 11, at approximately 10:23 a.m., a National Guard soldier was assaulted by a migrant at a river in El Paso, Texas. The migrant, identified as Karla Dividay Matar, was charged with aggravated assault following the incident.
The incident took place on the banks of a river in El Paso, a city known for its vibrant culture and history. However, this event has cast a shadow over the city’s image. The National Guard soldier, who was on duty at the time, was unexpectedly assaulted by Matar.
Karla Dividay Matar was identified through a Venezuelan identification card. The motives behind her actions remain unclear. Following the assault, Matar was taken into custody. Matar bond was set at $3,500 bond set by Magistrate Judge Guerra.
