NO RED WAVE IN MAVERICK COUNTY – UNLESS YOU ARE CONGRESSMAN TONY GONZALES
The Maverick County 2022 Midterm Elections definitely did not disappoint last week. Apparently Texas HD 74 State Representative Eddie Morales was not the only one throwing sucker punches this year. “Republican” Congressman Tony Gonzales had a sucker punch of his own leaving Maverick County voters shocked and scratching their heads on how it was possible that a the congressman received more votes than his Democrat opponent, John Lira.
The “Republican” Congressman Tony Gonzales picked up 4,233 (47.3%) ahead of Democrat John Lira with 4,115 (46.0%) and U.S. Border Patriot Frank Lopez finished with 605 (6.8%). In local county races, the Maverick County Democratic Party was consistent across the board and took every seat up for grabs election day. The Maverick County Democratic Party dominated the polls except for in the Texas 23rd Congressional District contest where the “Republican” won by a difference of 118 votes. In somewhat of a anomaly, well honestly a HUGE ANOMALY, Congressman Gonzales managed to win Maverick County
The midterm election could be described as somewhat a false prophecy as everyone held their breathe in anticipation of a red wave coming but we all ended up blue in the face when it came to the results in Maverick County.
Do you think there was a Trump difference between 2022 and 2020 elections?
