UPDATE ON THE EAGLE PASS HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER SUSPENSION
In March of this year, we reported about the suspension of an Eagle Pass High School Teacher that allegedly slapped a student in the classroom setting. At the concern of many Eagle Pass Independent School District parents, The Maverick Times News submitted a request for public information under the Texas Public Information Act to share what happened with the concerned community. The situation was not addressed publicly by the school district during the school year.
Legal counsel with the school district submitted a request of opinion from the Texas Attorney General’s Office about what information is actually allowed to be released about the situation. Below we received an update from Assistant Attorney General, James L. Coggeshall in which he is responding to the EPISD’s legal counsel request for an opinion.
