MAVERICK COUNTY ATTORNEY IRACHETA PROVIDES MID-YEAR UPDATE FROM HIS OFFICE
Maverick County Attorney Jamie “AJ” Iracheta released mid-year report about what the Maverick County Attorney Office has been able to accomplish since January 2022. According to the report the County Attorney’s Office has obtained over 265 criminal convictions, Assess over $13,000 in fines, over $4,500 in court costs, over $5,000 in restitution for victims of crimes, four years of probation time and over 25 years of jail time. Also they have been able to obtain 5 years of protective orders for victims of domestic violence, obtained $1 million dollar grant, added four fulltime employees at no cost to the county and added new case management software moving towards a paperless office.
The lack of support to the Maverick County Attorney’s Office by Commissioners Court during the budget process has been a recent issue the county attorney’s office has not allowed to hold them back.
