CITY OF EAGLE PASS MAKES HEAVY INVESTMENT IN DOWNTOWN AREA
The City of Eagle Pass purchased four (4) properties in the downtown area. The real estate investment sets back tax payers $1.6 Million for the following properties: the former downtown HEB store at the intersections of Main Street/Adams Street; the parking lot behind the former downtown HEB store, former Three Sisters store located on Main Street and the former Kress Building on Main Street.
According to the Eagle Pass Business Journal, City Manager George Antuna is interested in the near future developing a children’s museum in one of the buildings, a retail store and a museum for Constellation Brands, the manufacturer of Corona beer and other beer brands in Nava Coahuila, Mexico. Their brand is well recognized and distributed to the United States and Canada.
The City Manager will have his hands full with the project mentioned in the article, we will be reaching out to Mr. Antuna for a comment.
