Trump denies wrongdoing, calls charges politically motivated

Former President Donald Trump is set to surrender to authorities in Georgia on Thursday on charges that he schemed to overturn the 2020 election in the state.

The charges stem from a phone call Trump made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in January 2021, in which he pressured Raffensperger to “find” enough votes to overturn his loss in the state.

Trump Responds to Shocking Grand Jury Targeting

Trump is expected to turn himself in at the Fulton County jail, where he will be booked and fingerprinted. He has already been released on a $200,000 bond.

The case is being brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who has said she believes Trump and his associates committed “a number of serious crimes” in their attempt to overturn the election results.
