SPJST District 7 Rally Brings Community Together to Support Veterans
FLORESVILLE, TX — A strong show of community support was on display during the SPJST District 7 Rally, where residents gathered to honor veterans and contribute to a meaningful cause.
The event took place on March 22 at SPJST Lodge 107 and drew approximately 69 attendees who participated in a day centered on giving back and community engagement.

Donations and Support for Local Veterans
The rally focused on supporting residents of the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home through donations and fundraising efforts.
Attendees contributed nearly 100 pounds of snack items, along with essential clothing such as socks and undershirts. Volunteers filled an entire pickup truck bed with donations, with additional items placed inside the vehicle due to the volume collected.
A silent auction held during the event raised $286 in monetary donations, further supporting the veteran community.
Community Activities and Family Engagement
The rally offered a variety of activities designed to bring families together. Guests enjoyed a luncheon followed by games, crafts, and fellowship throughout the afternoon.
Children participated in themed crafts, including creating glowing lanterns as part of the “United We Shine” initiative, which reflects SPJST’s 2026 theme honoring America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
Additional activities included an egg hunt style “Goody Grab,” while adults took part in bingo games and prize drawings featuring household items and electronics.
