According to a recent poll conducted by Rasmussen for Political Media and exclusively provided to The Post Millennial, former President Donald Trump would defeat current President Joe Biden in a head-to-head battle in the 2024 presidential race. The poll found that 48 percent of Americans preferred Trump over Biden’s 41 percent to win the next election. Moreover, the majority of Americans favored a Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ticket over the incumbent Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris ticket, at 51 to 43 percent, respectively.

The poll also revealed that younger Americans between the ages of 18 and 39 were more likely to vote for Biden/Harris, at 59 percent, while older Americans preferred the Trump/DeSantis ticket. However, a similar pattern was observed in the Biden/Harris versus Trump/Lake ticket.

The majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of Biden, with 47 percent responding “very unfavorable,” and 6 percent responding “somewhat unfavorable.” In contrast, both Trump and DeSantis had a majority of favorable responses, with 59 percent responding somewhat or very favorable for Trump and 60 percent responding as such for DeSantis.

Regarding the issues of illegal immigration, government corruption, the economy, and national security, 54 percent said that they would trust a Trump/DeSantis ticket more than a Biden/Harris ticket. Notably, 52 percent of Hispanic voters believed that Trump and DeSantis would better handle the ongoing border crisis than Biden and Harris.

Larry Ward, Chairman and Founder of Constitutional Rights PAC, commented on the poll results, stating that “this poll gives great insights into the 2024 election.” He added that adding DeSantis to the ticket is powerful, and the Trump/DeSantis ticket beats Biden/Harris 51-43 outside the margin of error.

The poll was conducted from April 27 to May 2 among 1,050 national likely voters, and it has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
