CITY OF EAGLE PASS TO BUILD NEW $3.5M BUSINESS INCUBATOR TO REVITALIZE DOWNTOWN EAGLE PASS, TEXAS
The City of Eagle Pass in Texas is set to host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new business incubator project, which has received a $3.5 million grant from the United States Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the location of the future business incubator at 364 Main Street in downtown Eagle Pass.
The City of Eagle Pass Business Incubator aims to provide a supportive environment for new businesses during their start-up phase, which can help increase their chances of success. The facility will offer flexible leases, shared use of office equipment, business assistance and guidance, mentoring, networking, and access to capital and other technical resources. In addition, it will feature a restaurant, two retail spaces, a ghost kitchen, five offices for lease, two conference rooms, and a rooftop area. The business incubator will also house the City of Eagle Pass Economic Development Department.
The facility has over 15,000 square feet of available space and is designed to bring together multiple Economic Development Organizations (EDOS) that exist locally while also attracting new ones at a regional level to provide professional expertise to the entrepreneurial community in the city.
According to City of Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas Jr., the new business incubator will play a significant role in revitalizing the downtown and central business district. He further noted that the incubator would help entrepreneurs who want to start up a new business by providing them with the necessary tools to enhance their chances of success.
Acting City Manager Ivan Morua expressed his gratitude to the United States Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration for awarding the city the grant funds for the crucial project, which will aid the city’s recovery efforts following the coronavirus pandemic.
