EAGLE PASS HOUSING AUTHORITY MAY HAVE VIOLATED THE TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT
The City of Eagle Pass Housing Authority Board of Commissioners held a Special Meeting on Monday, February 13, 2023. The Maverick Times News was present to cover the single executive session item on the agenda related to personal matters of the request of back pay by the unjustly terminated employee Claudia M. Santos.
On the agenda for the Eagle Pass Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Special Meeting it states that the meeting was to be conducted at the Community Room at El Centenario High Rise but when our associate reporter arrived, the meeting was not being conducted in the community room as stated on the agenda.
Eagle Pass Housing Authority may have violated the Texas Open Meetings Act by conducting a Board of Commissioners Meeting at a different location not listed on the agenda.
The sudden last minute change of venue brings up the question, “What is there to hide from the public?”
