RESIDENTS COMPLAIN ABOUT CITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT 3

Maverick County Commissioner Court approved for Maverick County to initiate feasibility study with State of Coahuila for a possible third international bridge. The item was approved during the Maverick County Commissioners Court Meeting on January 24, 2023. Maverick County Judge Ramsey English Cantu thanked Maverick County Commissioner Precinct 4, Roberto Ruiz for his continued efforts on creating an opportunity for a third international bridge in Maverick County.

Commissioner Ruiz has been after the prospect for a Maverick County International Bridge since 2014 when he submitted the agenda item to seek funding for a feasibility study for a third bridge in the area. In 2015, the idea of a third international bridge began rolling with the distribution of Request for Proposals (RFPs) to seek who is the best qualified firm to conduct the study. The company Raba Kistner had been awarded the proposal but then all of sudden the project came to halt.

Most recently in 2016 the delaying of the project of the feasibility was brought up by Commissioner Ruiz during a meeting where Robert Wilson was not in attendance. Former county judge David Saucedo discussed in his usual condescending tone about Maverick County not having the funds for the feasibility study at the time. It is great to see that this project is getting the attention it deserves by the current administration.
