The CHIPS Act was approved by the U.S. Senate Tuesday night. The act will provide a $52 billion subsidy for domestic chip manufacturing and research investments. According to Yahoo Finance, $39 billion is going towards building domestic chip manufacturing plants and $11 billion will be set aside for research and development money appears to be designed to alleviate a refit developing between the semiconductor companies like Advanced Micro Devices, Qualcomm and Nvidia that work in designing the chips.
