Congressman Ernest “Tony” Gonzales (R) represents the Texas 23rd Congressional District that shares over a thousand miles of the Texas border with Mexico. The district is represented by rural counties with the exception of portions of El Paso and Bexar Counties respectively. The United States border has been slammed with record breaking numbers of illegal immigrants detained by Border Patrol, the majority crossing through the Texas border.
ON THE FAST TRACK
Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (S. 2938) was voted on by the House of Representatives this afternoon after passing the Senate with a late Thursday vote of 65-33. The Bipartisan Communities Act was heavily promoted by Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) who has been in the Senate since 2002. Senator Cornyn (R) voted in favor of the “red flag” gun law but Senator Ted Cruz (R) stood his ground and voted against the unconstitutional bill.
The results of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act vote by the U.S. House of Representatives was 234 – 193 in favor of passing the bill that will head to the desk of President Biden.

Even before the Senate Roll Call, Texas CD 23 Rep. Ernest “Tony” Gonzales took to Twitter to support the “red flag” law.
Texas CD 23 Representative Ernesto “Tony” Gonzales (R) showed his true colors voting along with thirteen other “Republicans” for a “red flags” gun law. This is not the first time Rep. Gonzales ideologies makes a switch, according to govtrack.us, Rep. Gonzales is the second most liberal Republican given his track record, only behind California CD 23 Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R).

Texas 23rd Congressional District Voter
Concerns are being raised by constituents of Texas 23rd Congressional District with their Representative in favor of “red flag” laws that does not allow due process which is our constitutional right. Many TxCD23 constituents have expressed their discontent with Congressman Gonzales ability to abandon his constituents conservative views.
