Man Found Inside Business Vehicle Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges in Del Rio

DEL RIO, Texas — A man was arrested on multiple felony charges after being found inside a business vehicle without authorization early Monday morning.

On April 20, 2026, at approximately 5:10 a.m., officers with the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 100 block of East Gibbs Street following a report of suspicious circumstances at a local business.

Suspect Located Inside Vehicle

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male subject had entered a business vehicle and was refusing to exit. Officers located the individual, identified as Jose Humberto Flores-Uribe, 41, seated behind the steering wheel and speaking incoherently.

Authorities reported that Flores-Uribe ignored multiple commands to exit the vehicle and was eventually removed by officers.

Damage Reported to Vehicle

The owner of the vehicle reported that the suspect caused damage to the windshield during the incident.

Flores-Uribe was initially taken into custody on a charge of criminal mischief.

Drugs and Stolen Property Discovered

A search incident to arrest revealed a THC vape pen in Flores-Uribe’s possession.

During an inventory search of his backpack, officers discovered a wallet belonging to another individual and a baggie containing a crystal-like substance. The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Officers also located three additional THC vape pens inside the backpack.

Multiple Charges Filed

Flores-Uribe faces several charges, including criminal mischief ranging from $750 to $2,500, burglary of a vehicle with two or more prior convictions, possession of a controlled substance under Penalty Group 1 between 4 and 200 grams, possession of a controlled substance under Penalty Group 2 between 4 and 400 grams, and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information involving fewer than five items.

Transported for Processing

Flores-Uribe was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing and later transferred to the GEO Correctional Facility pending magistration.

The case remains under investigation.
