The Maverick County Hospital District is currently registering candidates for the November General election. Board member Aaron Valdez registered for re-election stating that the District through the Board of Directors and staff have been able to work together to expand health opportunities for Maverick County residents. He stated that this is his motivation for running for re-election to continue expand the opportunities in the community.

Valdez and his wife Stephany are the new breed of entrepreneurs in Maverick County, heading companies Smart Energy Solutions and State Farm Insurance. The young power couple sets an example for younger generations of entrepreneurs out of Maverick County. Valdez was elected to the Board of Directors back in 2018 and is a heavily favored to win re-election in 2022.
